After the concert at the Peck Pavilion, the Milwaukee Police Band went to Discovery World for a photo op. This was the last photo taken at that time.
On Sunday, August 18, 2019 the Milwaukee Police Band performed a free community concert at the Marcus Center for the Arts Peck Pavilion. Over 230 people were in attendance and the summer afternoon was filled with the music of “America’s Oldest Police Band established in 1898”.

On Saturday, August 17, 2019 the Milwaukee Police Band performed at Irishfest on the Miller Stage in Milwaukee in a ceremony that honored some of the first responders that were killed in 2018-2019.
Monday, June 10, 2019 the MPB members performed at the Pfister Hotel for the Opening Ceremonies of the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training 2019 Conference. Attendees from several countries were present. Vocalists include band members Sharon Ehlert, John Michalski and Retired P.O. James Hutchinson singing the National Anthem.

On May 21, 2019, the band members performed at the Merit Awards Ceremony at the Academy recognizing department members and citizens that are heroes among us. In honor of Law Enforcement Week, the Milwaukee Police Band performed at both the Greater Milwaukee Law Enforcement Memorial in Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Center on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 as well as the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial in Madison at the Capital on Friday, May 10, 2019. It is an honor to perform at ceremonies such as this but it is with great sadness this year especially because of the three officers that were lost from the Milwaukee Police Department within the past year that of Officer Michael Michalski, Officer Charles Irvine and Officer Matthew Rittner.

On April 30, 2019 the MPB members performed pre-program music for the ground breaking ceremony of the Milwaukee Urban Stables at 141 E. Lincoln Avenue. This is the first facility in the nation to combine Police Mounted Patrol, equine-assisted therapy and community engagement programs.
The Milwaukee Police Band performed our annual winter concert on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at 144 E. Wells Street, at the Pabst Theater. Our concert was dedicated to P.O. Michael Michalski, a member of the support staff of the band since 2001. Please enjoy some of the photos captured on that night. And, thank you to all who attended the concert with well over 800 people in attendance.
Police Officer Michael Michalski passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the age of 52. Officer Michalski was killed that evening by the armed felon he was attempting to arrest.
Since 1999, Mike has been a versatile member of the Milwaukee Police Band, acting as a stagehand at our annual concerts, banner carrier in our parades and transporter of band instruments and equipment around the city and country for us as we have traveled to perform. Mike, married to Susan, our Children’s Coordinator for our concerts, is also the father of John, one of our vocalists, and brother-in-law of Director Dubis and Band Photographer Starr.
